Cushions These cushions are hand-made by our residents at Dai Bosatsu Zendo. They are created by meditation practitioners for meditation practitioners. The covers are constructed of high-quality 100% black cotton twill and filled with kapok or buckwheat hulls. Kapok is a natural vegetable fiber pulled from the seed pods of the kapok tree. It is hypoallergenic, resilient, and lightweight. We also offer a zafu with buckwheat hulls which makes for a firm and exceptionally body-conforming seat. Zafus have pleated sides and a carrying handle. Please call the office at 845 439-4566 to order cushions. • Zafu Round Cushion Zafu (kapok): 15" diameter, approx. 7" thick-- $48.00 Zafu (buckwheat): 15" diameter, approx. 7" thick-- $48.00 • Zabuton Flat Cushion This is a large, flat, tufted cushion stuffed with cotton batting; it is used under the zafu. Our zabuton is especially deep and thick, and will provide extra protection to knees, hips and ankles. With this zabuton, you can experience increased comfort and better body alignment whether you sit crosslegged or in a kneeling position. Zabuton: 30" x 34", approx. 5" thick, tufted-- $64.00 • Support Cushion Support cushions are small and are used to add extra help where you need it: to raise the back of your zafu, under a stiff knee or as support for hands in half-lotus or Burmese sitting postures. Zen Incense Discover the wonderful scent of Shoyeido Zen Incense. This incense will add a new dimension to your experience whenever you burn it. We offer 3 types, each delightfully different. Shoyeido uses the finest herbs, spices, resins and aromatic woods from around the world and time-proven blending secrets that have been passed down through twelve generations of the same family. These special scents are wrapped in traditional wrapping paper and come in a hand-pasted ricepaper box. Each bundle contains 30 sticks, each 13“ long. Approximate burning time: 2 hours per stick. Morning Zen is comprised chiefly of sandalwood, cinnamon and spices. Yellow box, $18.00. Evening Zen contains sandalwood, clove, patchouli and benzoin. Green box, $18.00.
