Zazen is held five times a week. The
schedule is subject to change, please refer to the current listing
of events (see below) or pick up a New York Zendo Monthly Calendar
flyer located in the inside entrance at our location for current
schedule information.
For all non-member Zazen Meetings, a $15 donation is required,
mornings are $5. You may become a member of New York Zendo Shobo-Ji
after an initial Thursday evening Class and consecutive and regular
sitting for at least one month afterwards. The membership fee is $50
monthly. Membership includes all regularly scheduled Zazen meetings
and discounts on retreats at New York Zendo Shobo-Ji and Dai Bosatsu
Zendo.
Morning Zazen is held Tuesday through Fridays except during Dai
Bosatsu Zendo Sesshin, see New York Zendo 2007 Calendar for more
specific dates or call for times.
Wednesday evening Zazen is for members only. Saturday morning there
is a chanting service with two periods of Zazen and informal tea
being offered. About once a month on Saturdays, a Japanese Dharma
Class is offered by the Ven. Eido Tai Shimano Roshi. This class is
strictly for fluent Japanese speakers only.
During the Interim break in the Summer and Winter the Zendo is
closed.
