Temporary Caretaker/Maintenance Manager for Dai Bosatsu Zendo Below are the requirements for the position of temporary Caretaker/Maintenance Manager. The successful applicant will be capable of performing the tasks listed here, and will have a desire to deepen their commitment to Zen practice by participating in the community life at our monastery. Residents of Dai Bosatsu Zendo live in a vibrant community and work in the service of providing excellent programs for guests and other zen practitioners. This position requires a basic understanding, acceptance and willingness to work within the regimen and schedules of a rigorous spiritual environment. General groundskeeping and maintaining outdoor areas: roads, paths, lawns, gardens, etc.Maintenance and (light) repair of monastery vehiclesWaste and trash removalPerforming simple mechanical repairs, i.e., water heaters, clothes washers, heating systemsWorking with teams to block and split firewood for use in wood-burning furnacesMaintaining safety and health code specificationsOn emergency call as requiredRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities--
